Gilimanuk harbour the cheapest inland way to reach Java.There are ferries that sail every minutes to deliver people and vehicle from Bali to Java. It takes around 45 minutes by ferry from Bali to Java Ferries run every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day although loading and unloading can take much longer and around 3 hours drive from Denpasar to Gilimanuk.
West Bali National Park is only short distance from Gilimanuk area.
The villages around Gilimanuk contain a mixture of Balinese, Javanese, Madurese and Bugis architecture unique to Bali. No less beautiful are the various boats belonging to these ethnic groups.
The nearest town of any size is Negara. Intercity Bus and Bemos run to Gilimanuk from Ubung Bus station in Denpasar.
The beauty of Gilimanuk beaches is rarely mentioned. It has a wide range of coral beaches, white and black sand beaches and mangrove forest.
The exquisiteness of the underwater coral awaits anyone willing to dive in and go for snorkeling.
There is no luxury or star hotels in Gilimanuk only small, clean hotels around the area.
